Android 8.0 oreo is reportedly coming to samsung phones in early 2018

Unless you buy a Google Pixel or Pixel 2, there’s a very good, if not certain chance that your handset is not, and never will run the absolute latest version of Android. While that’s ok because we buy a smartphone for different reasons, it’s still a great feeling knowing that your phone’s manufacturer is at least planning to provide a firmware upgrade at some point. This phrase brings our attention to Samsung, a company that doesn’t have the greatest reputation for updating its handsets in a particularly timely fashion. Users will be happy to note that the company is working on bringing the Oreo update sometime in the beginning of the New Year.  The revelation comes courtesy of Samsung’s Turkish website, which doesn’t really get into much detail apart from the following comments on what the Oreo update will bring The Android 8.0 operating system will help minimize the background activities of applications you recently used in your device.  It will allow your applications to open faster.  In addition, new emojis and picture in picture PIP features are the newest features to enhance the user experience.  You will now see small notifications for the last notification received on your notification apps.  With predictive text selections, you can see the appropriate application suggestions for your chosen text.  With Night Mode, you will be able to browse web pages without disturbing your eyes in the dark. If 2016 is anything to go by, Samsung will likely run an Android Oreo beta program for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus and maybe the Galaxy Note 8 as well handsets sometime in November, with the finished firmware rolling out in JanuaryFebruary. For the moment, while we can be sure that Samsung will update its latest and greatest flagships in Q1 2018, details on other Source Samsung Translated Via XDA Developers
